Windows Phone recently launched its latest round of devices to positive reviews, and now the organization is planning our next release of compelling features and scenarios. The Windows Phone C4 team (Calls, Chats, Contacts, and Connections) is looking for a talented Development Lead to help help drive the vision and execution for our next release.
This is a great opportunity to provide leadership and vision for the team responsible for text messaging, MMS, and IM for Windows Phone. Texting is one of the most popular ways for people to connect on mobile devices, and our team continues to innovate by integrating IM and texting, roaming your chat history between devices including Windows 8, and providing an integrated Facebook chat experience.
The ideal candidate for this job is someone who can provide leadership and carrer growth to a team of talented engineers, architectural and technical leadership, and hands on development work. The candidate will also have a passion for high quality engineering practices.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain messaging features in Windows Phone
- Lead a strong 5-7 person development team
- Work closely with partner teams to develop end to end solutions
- Drive engineering execellence, career growth, and advancement of developers on the team
A successful candidate is a strong developer with:
- 7+ years of professional software development
- 4+ years of C++ development required
- Experience shipping at least one product
- Proven design and debugging skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Track record of working successfully across teams
- Passion for mobile and technology
- Passion for high quality engineering
- Passion to incubate new ideas, map customer needs to technology and deliverables
- A BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, EE, or equivalent industry experience
